Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday sought assistance from the Planning Commission to chalk out PC-I for Disaster Management Academy According to sources, the academy, being planned by the civic body, will be first of its kind in the capital.
It would be constructed in Sector H-11 from where fire fighting and civil defence training would be imparted to skilled professionals to meet any eventuality or disaster, the sources added. Besides, the CDA decided to purchase two new firefighting vehicles from Sweden, costing Rs 360 million to upgrade fire brigade of the capital.
