Trade Development Bank of Iran will soon open a branch in Karachi, said Commercial Attache of Iran in Karachi Ahmad Fasihi said. Referring to the development of Iran-Pakistan trade relations, he termed the two countries' economic transactions as positive, reports Iranian news agency, IRNA.
"Iran's export to Pakistan stood at 12 million dollars during March 21-August 21," he said, adding the figure indicated a 14 percent increase as compared to the same period the previous year. Fasihi termed petrochemical products, detergents, nuts and iron ore as the main items being exported to Pakistan, and added that once the branch was opened, the amount of exported items would increase.
