Sindh Minister of Information, Shazia Marri, has said that policy making is the responsibility of legislators and bureaucracy has to follow and implement policies of elected government to deliver the masses for their socio-economic uplift.
"Present PPP government has firm belief to deliver masses in a better way", she said while meeting the high officials of Planning and Development Department here on Wednesday. The P&D department officials were invited to brief the minister information regarding the progress on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme (BBSYDP) and establishment of Sindh Technical and Vocational Institutions Authorities.
Marri was informed that BBSYDP has been initiated in 7 different Sindh government departments with total expenditure of Rs 2.7 billion under which around 30,160 unemployed youth having degrees in Matric, Intermediate, B.A and M.A will be provided training in various skills along with sufficient monthly stipends. Regarding establishment of STVIA, the minister was told that the objective is to bring all the technical and vocational training/educational institution under control of one authority and which are being run by District Governments, Labour and Education Departments currently.
Shazia Marri urged upon the concerned authorities to ensure proper utilisation of funds with provision of benefits to maximum number of people. She emphasised the need to take on board the elected government representatives for transparent and result-oriented utilisation of funds.
