The equities maintained downward slide on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Friday and lost values amid sluggish trading trend while transaction volume recorded slight improvement because of selling pressure.
The LSE-25 index closed at 2824.52 against last day closing of 2825.28, thus denoting a fractional decline of 0.76 points while trading turnover increased to 29,200 shares as compared to Thursday volume of 15,700 shares. Of 73 active issues, four companies closed in red zone while 69 stayed unchanged at their previous levels.
The market opened on a depressed note and remained dull throughout the day. The investors continued to stay away from the brokerage houses, which resulted in low activity. Bosicor Pakistan lost 54 paisa, PIAC declined by 30 paisa and Maple Leaf Cement and Southern Electric Power were down by 29 and 9 paisa respectively. Maple Leaf Cement was the highest trading company, which recorded transaction of 11,000 shares followed by Zeal Pak Cement Company with 10,500 shares.
