Around 5,000 children of under-five years of age lose their lives every year in Pakistan because of different diseases and non-availability of resources. The Director General of Sindh Health Department Ghulam Nabi Memon inaugurated the day-long national symposium on "Update of common paediatric problems" here on Saturday.
The symposium was jointly organised by Paediatric Department of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) and affiliated colleges, including Peoples Medical College for Girls, Nawabshah; Chandka Medical College, Larkana, and Ghulam Muhammad Maher Medical College, Sukkur.
The Director General of Sindh Health Services said that in the developed countries of the world, special attention was being paid on child health and now with the introduction of evidence mode medicines, the care of children had become possible through treatment guidelines.
