Information Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Ahsan Iqbal has said that PML-N is holding a clear stance about the judiciary issue. Talking to a private TV channel he said PML-N has said many time that the judicial crisis was created when General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) dismissed the Chief Justice on March 9, 2007.
He said all the other judges came into the line of fire later, so the basic dispute was of dismissal of the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. "Pervez Musharraf's legacy will continue until the restoration of Chief Justice", he said. About the crisis faced by Pakistan he said they are cautious in their approach due to the dangers faced by Pakistan. He said there is economic meltdown and the sovereignty is at stake.
He said they do not want to create any more dangers for the country. To a question about Charter of Democracy (CoD) he said the CoD has also been set aside at the moment. He said its first provision demands cancellation of the presidential power of Former President acquired through the 17th amendment. He said they will effectively remind the government of the attack on the judiciary on November 3.
