The District Bar Association (DBA),Multan has threatened to lock courtrooms in the province if all the deposed judges are not reinstated by November 3. DBA Multan Secretary Muhammad Ashraf Sindhu announced this while addressing the general body meeting of the bar here on Friday.
He also showed a number of locks and chains, which he said, would be used to lock the courtrooms. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Lawyers Forum President Riaz Latifi said lawyers were united and would resort to locking of courts if the government did not meet their demands.
Secretary High Court Bar Association Multan Rana Naveed Akhtar said that defeat of government-backed candidate in Supreme Court Bar Association elections revived lawyers' movement. Backing the decision to lock court rooms if the government did not restore judges, President DBA, Multan Najaf Ali Chavan s announced to distribute appreciation certificates among lawyers, who had played significant role in the lawyers' movement.
