Nadra to assist Sudan in developing civil registration system: contract signed
National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) will help Sudanese government in establishing database and development and implementation of registration and identity system. In this connection Nadra has signed a contract with Kushite Integrated Company, a subsidiary of Ministry of Interior, Republic of Sudan here on Friday.
Five member Sudanese delegation headed by Major General Basheer Ahmed Basheer visited Nadra headquarters on Friday as a follow up visit regarding Sudanese Civil Registration System. Muhammad Tariq Malik, Deputy Chairman Nadra welcomed the visiting delegates and briefed them regarding the system being designed for Sudan. During the talks, matters relating to registration of refugees were also discussed, as Nadra has extensive experience in registration of refugees in Pakistan.
The objective of Sudan Civil Registration Project is not only to issue identity cards to Sudan nationals but also to develop a centralised and an integrated state-of-the-art civil registration system backed up with highly sophisticated multi-biometric data warehouse, integrated with multiple internal and external interfaces. Visiting delegates have shown keen interest in registration of refugees system as well.
