The Karachi Port handled 87,896 tonnes of cargo including 46,163 tonnes of import, 41,733 tonnes of export cargo and 2,754 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The freights comprised of 77,296 tonnes of dry cargo including 32,741 tonnes of general cargo; 17,399 tonnes of wheat; 625 tonnes of scrap; 4,708 tonnes of fertiliser; 9,068 tonnes of cement; 10,800 tonnes of clinker; 1,955 tonnes of rice and 10,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Six ships namely Apl Yokohama, Mol Affinity, Kota Pardana, Petali Lady, X-Press Khyber and Fu Yu Shan sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels viz Oocl Ability, Fu Yu Shan, High Century, Blida, Ltc Calvin P. Titus and Cap Gabriel are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely Abrar, Cap Gabriel, Union Carrier, Oocl Ability, Blida and Cosmos Sun expected to sail on Saturday while another vessel viz Makran expected to sail on Sdnday. Four ships namely Capriole, Ninos, H H Tide and Qsm Dubai due to arrive on Saturday while five ships namely Far Singapore, Hawk, Flag Investors, Cailane-2 and Thor Ingeborg are due to arrive on Sunday.
Three ships namely MSC Lucia, MV Waafi and MT Yanaseni sailed out to sea during last 24 hours while another container ship MSC Germany is expected to sail on Saturday. A total of eleven ships namely Taian Hai, Karavados, Kolocap, Maria, Darya Radhe, Voc Progress, Sichem Melbourne, Jorita, Sea Sky, Word Pride and Musan carrying wheat, chemicals, iron ore, furnace oil, palm oil and cement respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Six vessels viz CV MSC Germany, CV MSC Lucia, MV Golden Beam Trader, MV Pacific Scorpio, MT Yanaseni and MV Vaafi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, chemicals and iron ore respectively during the report period. Five ships namely CV Bux Lagoon, MT Sea Sky, MT Jorita, MT Shintoku and MT Sichem Melbourne are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, EVTL and MW -1 respectively on Saturday.
Oil tanker MT Al-Soor-II is due to arrive on Saturday. Six ships namely Sinar Busan, Royal Aqua, Bux Lagoon, Gladiator, Bison Express and Shintoku carrying Palm oil, containers, wheat, live cattle and acetic acid are also due to arrive.
