Minister for Agriculture Punjab Malik Ahmad Ali Aullakh will inaugurate two-day international dairy conference and wheat sowing campaign at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) today on November 3, 2008. The international conference is being organised by the Department of Livestock Management, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, UAF.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at 9.00 am at the Iqbal Auditorium. The function will be attended by Minister for Livestock & Dairy Development Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer, MNAs, MPAs and various high officials of federal & provincial governments, district management, progressive and small farmers, industrialists, university faculty members and students.
Highlighting the importance of the conference, Professor Dr Muhammad Younus said that the conference will provide a platform to encourage and promote scientific research and development related to dairy production and allied subjects. He further said that current status of dairy production and facilities available in the country would also be highlighted at the conference. The professor said that we should have to recognise the importance of the production aspects such as management, breeding, feeding, prophylaxis and health etc to increase the production and efficiency of dairy animals. Dr Younus said that this conference will stimulate the public as well as private sector for more investment in establishing the commercial dairies vigorously in the food shortage scenario of the country.
