The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) would provide every possible support to National Education Foundation, which is working for the promotion of education to disadvantaged section of the society. This was stated by Chairman of PBM, Zamrud Khan while inaugurating a school established for the huts' children nearby Railway Carriage Factory here on Monday.
"Provision of education to disadvantage section of the society is one of the fundamental aims of the Bait-ul-Mal schemes", he remarked. The National Education Foundation School, enrolled with 350 children living in six huts of the area and which was the initiative of Aims Foundation working in collaboration with National Education Foundation.
Director Project Brigadier Sirajuddin (Retd) while briefing to the chief guest Zamrud Khan, said that the books and shelters had been provided to the students and four teachers are performing their duties after obtaining training from NEF. The director project said his organisation is giving preference to teachers from the local community, particularly female but due to unavailability of teachers from the community the organisation hires teachers from out side the huts locality.
"NEF has introduced as many as 14,000 schools across the country including 400 working in Islamabad region", he said, adding that this the most cost-effective approach to benefit maximum number of students.
Abdul Waheed Khan, the Co-ordinator of Aims Foundation in his remarks said that 350 students have been enrolled in the school initially at the primary level but limited resources are hampering the activities of the institution. He stressed the need for allocation of required fund to benefit maximum number of children belonging to disadvantage and poor section of the society.
