The Islamabad High Court here on Monday commuted death sentence of a convict into life imprisonment. A Division bench, headed by Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Aslam, commuted the death sentence of Jehan Zeb, a former police corp who had been convicted for murdering Mohammad Mohsin Ilyas.
He was awarded capital punishment by the Additional Sessions Judge, Islamabad, for murdering his neighbour in 2000, in Industrial Area after developing a tiff over kids' quarrel. Taj Bibi, his wife and co-accused, was released by the Sessions Judge.
