Appoint special envoy to South Asia: Mushahid proposal to US Presidential hopeful
Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed has proposed a close aide of US Presidential hopeful Barack Obama on Security for appointing a Special Envoy to Pakistan, Afghanistan and India for improving relations among the three countries.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said, "during a meeting with close aide of Obama on security issue, I told him that he should stop asking "do more," rather stop attacks inside Pakistan, immediately start aid for Pakistan, appoint a special envoy for Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India for resolving Kashmir issue and improving relations among the three countries." Mushahid Hussain also asked the government of Pakistan for putting such proposals before the US administration.
To a question he said it is a good opportunity for the elected government in Pakistan to enhance its relations with the United Sates. "The government in Pakistan should forcefully try to cement its ties with the US administration with the support of the Parliament" the Chairman said. The Senator welcomed Obama's statement of linking the issue of war on terror with the solution of Kashmir issue.
