JIT Probe: Hussain Nawaz makes sixth appearance
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s elder son, Hussain Nawaz arrived at the Federal Judicial Academy today (Tuesday) at 11am, to appear before the Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for the sixth time.
Security measures have been heightened in the city mainly around the JIT Headquarters, the Federal Judicial Academy, pertaining to Hussain’s visit.
Roads have been sealed from I-8 Interchange to the academy in Sector H-8; however, alternate route has been issued by the Islamabad Traffic Police
During his arrival, Hussain was accompanied by Prime Minister's Political Secretary Asif Kirmani and Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Ansar Aziz.
He is the only member of the Sharif family who has been summoned six times by the JIT to probe their money trail under Panama case verdict.
As the final day is closing in, the JIT in the last round of interrogations has by far summoned the prime minister's cousin Tariq Shafi, younger son Hassan Nawaz and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar within last two days.
The premier's daughter, Maryam Nawaz, is also expected to appear on Wednesday, July 5 before the JIT.
According to Geo News, the Islamabad Police, responding to a JIT letter, appointed Special Branch SP Arsala Saleem on Monday to supervise security arrangements during Maryam’s visit.
The Supreme Court had given 60 days to the probing body to complete and submit its investigation on July 10 to the court's special implementation bench.
