Two new federal ministers, Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan and Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour assumed the charges of the ministries of Communications and Pakistan Railways, respectively. Both the ministers have formally taken the charge of their ministries on Friday and met the officers and their personal staffs of ministries.
A number of delegates from Peshawar met here with Arbab Alamgir Khan on his arrival at ministry and congratulated him for taking the charge as Minister for Communications. While talking to journalists, he said that he would spend all his efforts to improve the communication system of the country because the economic system depends on a good infrastructure.
He said that all federalised roads of the country would be upgraded to the international standards and pending projects would be finalised as early as possible. He further said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto saw the dream to make her country developed, therefore, to achieve the goals of her dreams, he would use all his efforts and capabilities to serve the country and nation.
Similarly Secretary and Chairman Pakistan Railways Kashif Murtaza and senior official of the ministry welcomed the Railways Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour. In his comments, Bilour said that it is pleasure for him to take charge and he would do maximum for the organisation.
