Vice Admiral Saleem Ahmed Meenai has taken over the charge of Commander Karachi. In capacity of Commander Karachi, the Admiral would be in charge of all Naval Commands and units ashore at Karachi. Vice Admiral Saleem Ahmed Meenai was commissioned on 1st December 1972 in the Operations Branch of Pakistan Navy.
He specialised in communications and did his staff course from Royal Naval Staff College, Greenwich, United Kingdom in 1987. He earned his masters degree from National Defence University Islamabad in 1999. His career includes successive commands of three guided missile destroyers, submarine chaser and Fast Attack Craft.
