Former Punjab governor and president of PML-N Sardar Zulfikar Ali Khan Khosa has said that Pakistan was economically a sinking vessel which cannot afford an extra burden of 56 ministers and we cannot afford a heavy cabinet.
Talking to newsmen at Multan airport on Friday, he said that Asif Ali Zardari performed Umrah with 220 entourages which is also misuse of wealth, no matter whether he spend the expenditures from his own pocket or from national kitty. He asked whether Asif Zardari took them for luggage porting? He said that present regime was a continuation of Pervez Musharraf regime because it was also playing on the United States pitch and PML-N was not satisfied with the performance of present regime.
He said that American and Nato forces were killing innocent people in Fata but attitude of our rulers is apologetic while our own forces were doing operation in Balochistan and NWFP to please the Americans. He said that there was dire need of bringing some drastic changes in the existing local bodies system because General Pervez Musharraf made it his own electoral college like former dictator Ayub Khan.
He said that provincial government plundered the national exchequer and misused the funds of local councils and we have detected financial irregularities of Rs 54 billion in TMAs. He said, "we do not want to end local bodies system but we want to purge it of corruption. To a question Zulfikar Khosa said that Bush or Obama would watch the interest of United States at the cost of smaller or developing countries like Pakistan and Obama would not bring any major change in US policy.
