Pakistan Air Force C-130 transport fleet is carrying relief goods from different bases to Quetta through, day and night operations, since parts of Balochistan struck by deadly earthquake. According to a news release from Directorate of PAF's Public Relations, the relief goods are being off-loaded at PAF Base Samungli from where these are being further transported to calamity hit areas of Balochistan.
The relief goods weighing 380,505 pounds including tents, blankets, sleeping bags and edibles have been transported through thirteen C-130 sorties. Pakistan Air Force is transporting the load through sortie generation from Chaklala (Rawalpindi), Faisal (Karachi) and Lahore. Around 19 percent of the operations are being conducted during night to expedite the delivery of the goods to the affected areas.
Additional relief goods weighting about 2,000 kgs including tea, dry milk, sugar, ghee, flour, quilts, high neck sweaters, jackets, woolen jerseys, caps and socks, raised by Pakistan Air Force Women Association (PAFWA) in a Fund Raising Variety Show, were also transported to Balochistan. PAF has always been forthcoming in undertaking relief and rescue operations at national and international level calamities.
