Raw sugar futures on ICE Futures US at 1345 GMT. March raw sugar contract rose 0.16 cent, or 1.4 percent, to 12.03 cents per lb. Trading from 11.82 to 12.06 cents. Volume 8,815 lots. Sugar bounced higher, after closing down 6 percent Thursday, with a mild boost from crude oil and firm equities, said traders.
US MIDDAY: coffee, cocoa bounce
NEW YORK: Arabica coffee and US cocoa futures rebounded in light volume on Friday, following sharp losses Thursday, with options-related dealings giving cocoa an added boost, traders said. Arabica coffee for December delivery up 0.70 cent at $1.1170 per lb by 9:13 am EST (1413 GMT). Session range $1.1065 to $1.1265. The rest up 0.50 to 1.10 cent.
December volume a thin 1,906 lots. Benchmark March cocoa rose $23 to $1,957 per tonne by 9:15 am. Dealings $1,930 to $1,975. March volume a thin 2,406 lots. December options to expire later in the day, seen influencing prices to move between $1,950 and $2,100 or $2,200, basis December, said traders.
