Wheat and seeds items were higher on the grain market on Saturday as most of the buyers were interested in more buying of said commodities, dealers said. Commenting on the upward trend in the wheat prices, they said that because of conflicting reports about the quality of wheat, the rates are not coming down, instead going up with the passage of time.
Consumers, even retailers were not satisfied with quality of wheat, commonly selling in the local market, they said. On the cereal side, wheat went up by Rs 25 to Rs 2850-2865, other commodity items did not move any side in process of trading, they said.
On the seed side, rapessed Nawabshah low type was higher by Rs 200 to Rs 1800 and good type gained Rs 250 to Rs 1850, Dadulane was up by Rs 50 to Rs 1400-1450, Mirpurlane low quality rose by Rs 225 to Rs 1750 and best type was higher by Rs 150 to Rs 1770, rapeseed cake low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 750 and good type was up by Rs 35 to Rs 760, however, the best quality of til was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 3600 while the low quality retained its overnight level at Rs 3300, they said.
