Land dispute claims six lives

As many as six persons were killed and two injured in a bloody shootout between the two rival groups at Momandkhel area in the jurisdiction of Cantonment police station here on Sunday. An official of district police said a jirga comprised elders of the area was negotiating between Ishaq and Sher Azam group to settle their land dispute when suddenly some body started firing.
The firing continued for about one hour as people inside the hujra run for safe places. The dead identified as Ishaq, Khan Azam, Salab Wazir, Shafique Dawar, Saleem Murad and Syed Marjan Khan.
Fazal Subhan alias Sheikh resident Miranshah and Rahimzad sustained critical bullet wounds and were hospitalised. Cantonment police rushed to the scene and started raids on the suspected hideouts of criminals for the arrest of the accused.
