Balochistan Education Minister Shafiq Ahmed Khan has said that two hundred and fifty government schools have been destroyed in the October 29 earthquake in the province. Talking to a TV channel, he said the demolition of school building has affected the education of nearly four thousand girls and over sixty thousand boys.
The minister said the new buildings of the schools would be constructed after winters. He said the students in the worst hit areas are still in shock and they will be promoted to next grade without examination.
To a question he said tremors damaged some twenty five percent government schools in Quetta. Their examinations will be conducted before schedule, he added.
