French-Dutch airline AirFrance-KLM wants to revive its bid for Austrian Airlines (AUA), the state public television network reported on November 7.
ORF television said KLM chairman Jean-Cyril Spinetta expressed his company's renewed interest in Austrian Airlines, which is to be privatised, in a letter to Peter Michaelis, head of OIAG, the public holding company that controls 41.56 percent of the Austrian carrier.
KLM management, questioned by AFP, had no comment on the report. KLM had been among three pre-selected potential bidders for AUA, along with Lufthansa of Germany and S7 of Russia, but decided not to put forward a firm offer by the deadline at the end of October.
