Indian authorities have disallowed 23 people to perform Haj by not issuing their visas, in occupied Kashmir. The police intelligence, CID, has not yet cleared the names of 23 Haj aspirants to undertake the holy pilgrimage. Haji Abdul Rashid Mir, chief executive officer (CEO) Haj Committee, said.
"Twenty-three people have been denied permission out of a total of about 8,000 pilgrims. The same is there on account of adverse report from the CID", KMS reported. The authorities shattered the last wish of Saja Begum, 90, to perform Haj by denying visa to her son on the pretext of being an active Hurriyet activist. Saja Begum and her son Ghulam Ahmad Parray were selected to perform Haj this year.
They had to leave for Jeddah on November 23. However, few days back the authorities apprised Parray that his visa has been cancelled, as he is an active Hurriyet activist. "It is obligatory for every Muslim to perform Haj and my mother too wanted to perform this religious ritual. She has undergone a surgery in eye and is blind by one eye. She is aged and needs my help and cannot perform Haj without assistance. I can't understand why my visa was cancelled," Parray said.
