The PIAF-Founders Alliance while expressing grave concern over Nato air-strikes in tribal areas said that the attacks are hitting the country's economy badly as no investor is ready to put his money in any new venture. The economy could be backed on track even without the support of International Monetary Fund (IMF), if Nato forces are convinced to stop missiles attacks by using diplomatic channels.
These views were expressed by PIAF-Founders Alliance Leaders Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, and Abdul Basit during meetings with industrialists of Multan road, Gulberg and Sheikhupura Industrial Areas. The Alliance leaders said that if the government adopts a solid strategy to stop Nato air strikes and come up with a package to make business atmosphere conducive.
The business community has the potential to bring in much needed foreign exchange and the government would not be in need of accepting tough IMF conditionalities. They said that there are a number of issues that could be solved if the government takes local businessmen, who are the real stakeholders, into confidence.
