Four persons were killed and 9 others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up near the gate of Qayyum Sports Complex minutes before the concluding ceremony of 3rd Inter-Provincial Games here on Tuesday.
Hundreds of people including NWFP Governor Owais Ahmad Ghani and several provincial ministers and members of the provincial assembly were inside the sports complex when the suicide bomber detonated the explosive tied around his body.
The law-enforcement agencies found the limbs of the suicide bomber and two victims of the incident. Lady Reading Hospital received one dead body and two injured persons. The District Co-ordination Officer has confirmed the killing of two people and injuries to 5 persons in the incident.
