Differences within Pakistan Muslim League-Q are deepening, as supporters and opponents of Chaudhry brothers remain glued to their stances and were not ready to budge from their positions. One of the groups remains talking about 'Group of Four' within the PML-Q, while the other group raised strong voice for pushing the PML-Q into hereditary party, sources told Business Recorder, here on Tuesday.
According to the sources, the PML-Q believes that the country was heading towards 'economic disaster' mainly due to wrong policies of the sitting rulers. The only solution for pushing the country out of present crisis lies in playing effective role by the Opposition within and outside the parliament.
Moreover, common friends of the two factions of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N and PML-Q) again started their efforts for alliance or at least working relationship between the two factions of the Muslim League. These people are of the view that there will be alliance or merger of both the PML faction sooner or later. It would be better if both the factions of the PML join hands without further loss of time.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Q Central leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, while addressing a consultative meeting of his party legislators, office bearers and ticket holders from Layyah and Muzaffargarh districts, here at Muslim League House on Tuesday, asked the government to immediately withdraw its decision regarding privatisation of Qadirpur Gas Field. He also urged the government to slash the diesel price apart from bringing down the prices of fertilisers particularly DAP for increasing wheat production.
Elahi said, according to experts, Qadirpur Gas Field has the biggest reserves of natural gas from where only 30-percent gas reserves have been explored so far. This gas field is meeting one-fourth gas requirements of the country and after privatisation of Qadirpur Gas Field, there is possibility of increase in gas prices, he added. The government should not show indifferent attitude and withdraw its decision about privatisation of Qadirpur Gas Field, he added.
The PML-Q leader maintained that farmers are worried due to soaring prices of diesel and DAP. During the PML-Q regime, DAP bag was available at Rs 1100/- but now its price has reached Rs 5300/-. However, despite soaring prices of DAP, it is not available, which would definitely hit the wheat crop, if immediate remedial measures are not taken by the government.
