On the directives of Prime Minister Pakistan, Adnan A. Khwaja Chairman National Vocational and Technical Education Commission visited Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (PITHM) Karachi here on Tuesday. The foundation stone of the PITHM was laid by Yousaf Raza Gilani when he was the Minister of Tourism in 1986-87.
The Chairman Navtec assured Shoukat Ali Director PITHM that Navtec would continue to fund short courses to be run in this institute. He said that Pakistan has great potential for human development and in the fiscal year 100,000 youth will receive technical training on the Navtec Platform. PITHM is one of the seven institutes of Pakistan, which are being transformed into centre of excellence with the technical assistance of British Council.
Earlier the Chairman Navtec visited Shipyard Institute of Technology, Karachi to inspect the training facilities and assured to train the workforce with latest knowledge and equip them with skills and modern techniques. He said that Pakistan has great capacity to export workforce and earn foreign exchange reserves.-PR
