Motorway Police (MP) seized large quantity of fine quality liquor on GT Road in the area of Mandra, which was being smuggled in a car and arrested one culprit. As per details, the officers of Motorway Police SPO Najeeb Akram and SPO Malik Ameer observed a car No LHJ-3439, running on GT Road without rear lights.
The officers signalled the said car to stop. But the driver of the car instead of stopping, sped away. However, Motorway Police officers stopped the car after chasing through commando action and observed that the driver named Akhter Mehmood resident of Islamabad was drunk. On search of the car, 600 bottles of fine quality liquor were recovered. Local police was immediately informed. Later on, the recovered liquor, arrested culprit and car were handed over to local police.-PR
