Mir Badshah Khan Qaiserani, MPA has threatened to destroy the "Dhodhak" oil and gas field if Qadirpur and Dhodhak oil-fields of Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) were privatised and he would tender his resignation from the assembly.

Dozens of workers of Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) on Monday staged a hunger strike against the proposed privatisation of Qadirpur Gas Field and demanded that the government take the decision back. Holding banners and placards, the protesting workers gathered in front of the company's offices demanding that President Asif Ali Zardari take the privatisation decision back. Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA) President Chaudhry Akram said that Qadirpur Gas Field was a profit-earning entity and its privatisation would hurt the national interest.
