Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government is fully committed to provide necessary financial resources to the armed forces. During a briefing of Federal Minister for Defence, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar to the Prime Minister on Tuesday, defence minister highlighted the minimal defence requirements especially in the context of the ongoing war on terror.
Prime Minster said that he is fully cognisant of the requirements of the Armed Forces and the government is committed to provide the necessary financial resources. However, he stressed that we would have to be imaginative and explore all options to generate these resources.
Prime Minster reiterated that even under difficult fiscal conditions we will meet all our international obligations and commitments. Advisor to Prime Minister Shaukat Tarin, Secretary Finance and Secretary Defence also attended the meeting.-PR
