Senator Ishaq Dar has said that the business community has the potential to bring the country out of economic mire therefore the government should initiate process of consultation with the real stakeholders.
Ishaq Dar was speaking at grand dinner reception hosted by PIAF-Founders Alliance here on Sunday. Pervaiz Malik, Iftikhar Ali Malik, Mian Anjum Nisar, Mian Shafqat Ali amd PIAF Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh also spoke on the occasion.
Senator Ishaq Dar said that businessmen were subject specialists in their field of business and they could provide guidelines to the government as to how it could stop economic meltdown. Senator Ishaq Dar said that the International Monetary Fund loan should be one-time exercise and hopefully the government would ensure its judicious utilisation by curtailing all unnecessary expenditures.
About forthcoming LCCI polls, the Senator said that the business community was well aware of the fact that which group has genuine businessmen in its fold and they would use their right of vote wisely. He said that he himself and the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif had the honour to head this institution and knew well its importance therefore its prestige were very dear to them.
Pervaiz Mailk, while addressing the gathering, said that he was impressed to see the representatives of all the big markets of the city that was enough to make the point that the PIAF-Founders Alliance had won many hearts by rendering untiring efforts for the cause of the business community.
Former LCCI President Mian Anjum Nisar and Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iftikhar Ali Malik introduced the Alliance candidates to the Senator and said that all the candidates were selected while keeping in view their potential and abilities. They said that the Alliance had closed the door of corruption forever by printing pictorial voters list.
Addressing a brunch arranged in the honour of PIAF-Founders Chamber and Associate Class candidates, the President Punjab Economic Forum Sohail Lashari said that PIAF-Founders Alliance would get maximum votes in November 18 and November 19 LCCI polls.
Earlier, the women members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry at a meeting at Gymkhana Club decided to extend their support to PIAF-Founders Alliance and on November 18, they would cast their votes in favour of Alliance candidates. Meanwhile, the Alliance has finalised all the committees to look after the election arrangements.
