At least three people have lost their lives in different incidents across the metropolis on Monday. Police sources told Business Recorder that 40-year-old Syed Gohar Ali Shah son of Syed Niaz Ali Shah, resident of Golimar, who was a head constable at Brigade Police Station and coming to his home after duty when unknown armed bandits near Patel Para, opened fire on him.
He died on the spot. Later his body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy. Jamshed Quarters Police have registered a FIR 535/08, under section 302, against unknown culprits. In another incident, 12-year-old, Mahrukh daughter of Muhammad Saleem took her last breath after being burnt by fire caused by short circuit.
Later, her body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination. The police sources told that the deceased was the resident of New Karachi and died when fire erupts in house caused by short circuit. The sources said that the family members of deceased refused for any type of official inquiry.
In yet another incident, 30-year-old Khadim Hussain son of Syed Waseem Ahmed died when his car collided head-on with a truck which was coming from opposite direction. Later, his body was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for autopsy.
