Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that no change is visible in the country despite end of Pervez Musharraf's illegal rule. He said this while talking to media men during his visit to Jehangir Tomb on Thursday. Nawaz said the people had voted democratic forces in February 18, polls for a change but there was no change in post Musharraf era. He added that laws of Musharraf's era are still being followed.
He was of the view that revolutionary thinking is a must for bringing change in the situation. The PML-N Quaid further said that statement of US President-elect Barack Obama proves that existing policy of the US about Pakistan would remain unchanged. He further said that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) must review its attitude and fulfil the promises made with the public who voted it in the February 18, polls.
People are getting disappointed due to non-fulfilment of promises made by the PPP, he added. Nawaz also offered fateha at the Jehangir Tomb. He also directed authorities concerned to prepare projects about renovation of Jehangir Tomb, widening of GT Road and recycling of River Ravi water for drinking purpose. They were requested to send a report to Chief Minister Punjab in this regard within two weeks.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif had an aerial view of ring road. Malik Ghulam Mustafa Khar and Pervaiz Rashid accompanied with him. Moreover, sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder that the party leadership has expressed displeasure over recent statement of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan about Salman Taseer.
The PML-N has restrained the party leaders from issuing statements against Salman Taseer, the sources claimed. The PML-N believes that political opponents must be faced in political field and negative tactics need not be taken to exploit the situation, the sources said.
