Director General State Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Agency (Serra) Dr Asif Hussain Shah has said that so for the compensation of Rs 43.29 billion have been disbursed among the quake affected people for the construction of quake resistant houses and this amount will rise up to 50 billion rupees after completion of 4th and final instalment.
This he said while giving a briefing to visiting team of Kashmir Committee headed by its chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He said that Rs 21 billion are being spent on the reconstruction of Muzaffarabad city while Rs 15 billion would also be spent on the reconstruction of Bagh and Rawalakot cities respectively. While giving details, DG Serra Dr Asif described that 147600 quake victims were paid 4th and final instalment of Rs 50000, adding that quake victims of rural areas have almost completed the construction work of their houses.
DG Serra was of the view that some 1,421 projects regarding education, health, communication and provision of clean drinking water have been completed whereas the construction of combined Military Hospitals (CMH) of Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot would be completed in February 2009.
