Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been climbing fast in the ranks of the formidable Indian line up, the 23 year old has come along way since his IPL days where he was bought for Rs.1.2 crore by Mumbai Indians in the and has become the Blues death-bowling specialist.

As Bumrah continues to enjoy further success his grandfather, Santokh Singh Bumrah is struggling to make ends meet.

Santok, who is now 84-years-old, currently resides in Uddham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand, has been making a living by driving a tempo since he moved there from Ahmedabad, and as he continues watching his grandson rise in global cricket, Santok wishes to meet his grandson.

“It feels great to see Jasprit on television screen performing so well in international matches. I pray to God for his success and meet him once before I die,” Santok said to Hindustan Times.

Revealing about his present state, Santok said that he enjoyed success as a businessman during the 80s and the 90s, and used to own three factories. Santok who was assisted by Jasprit’s father, Jasbir in the business said that fortunes took a turn after the death of his son (Jasprit father).

“After Jasbir’s death in 2001, the fate turned and I started running into losses. Sold out factories and shifted to Kiccha with my brothers,” Santokh added.

Bumrah quickly developed from a lanky pacer to a confident yorker specialist with the ability to trouble the best. His 28 wickets in T20Is last year remains a record for most in a calendar year.
