LAHORE: Pakistan star all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez is likely to take captaincy of newly inducted team Multan Sultans for third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Dunya News citing its sources said Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene will be the vice captain of the team whereas Australian player Michael Clarke is a strong candidate for coaching.
However, Hafeez, who is currently associated with Peshawar Zalmi in previous editions, is likely to join the new franchise for the third edition.
One player each from every team and category will be selected for Multan Sultans. It was also learnt that Shoaib Malik was earlier contacted for the captaincy but he refused to supervise new team.
