District government has given approval to development schemes worth Rs 500 million for the fiscal year 2008-09, officials said. The schemes approved included eleven health sector schemes worth Rs 80 million, 43 education schemes worth Rs 140 million, Rs 150 million for road and village electrification schemes to be executed on recommendations of MNAs, MPAs and UC nazimeen.
Health schemes included construction of emergency ward in DHQ, water supply and drainage system improvement in DHQ, store for medicines, residence of principal nursing school, residences of nurses, offices of medical officers, residence of lady medical officer and missing facilities in TB ward.
Education schemes included construction of additional classrooms, boundary wall, toilets, teachers and staff rooms and provide other missing facilities at schools in the district. Other schemes included renovation of district assembly and mosque, office of DDO roads, boundary wall of sports ground at UC Budh, EDO CD office, and office of DDO roads Alipur.
