JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Saturday that it is inappropriate on part of India to blame Pakistan for involvement in the Mumbai attacks. In a telephonic interview to a private television channel, Maulana said that it is a time for the Indian leadership to come out of the traditional practice of blame game.
He said all the segments of society in Pakistan including leadership of political and religious parties have condemned the Mumbai attacks and they have also expressed sympathy with the people of India on this particular occasion. About India's claim of involvement of some Pakistan origin individuals in Mumbai attacks, he said in any case, a state can not be held responsible for their act as it is against diplomatic norms.
He said that government of Pakistan has assured the Indian leadership of full co-operation in the investigation process and the other side should have demonstrated patience and boldness. To a question, he said that Indian leadership is diverting pressure of domestic criticism towards Pakistan.
To another question, the veteran politician said that he does not see the possibility of an Indian misadventure against Pakistan. However, the entire nation would face the challenge untidily in case of any misadventure, he added.
When it comes to defence of homeland, there is no divide among the people of Pakistan on any ground, he said. He said the statements of Indian leadership have created tension at a time when the process of peace was moving in the positive direction.
