Governor of Punjab Salmaan Taseer said that it was because of the sacrifices of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto that democracy thrived in the country. Addressing the function of 42nd 'Yome Tasis 'of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) he said that he was striving for the cause of the people and would serve the people.
Farzana Raja senior leader of the Party said that PPP remained the only force of masses that have not hoodwinked the people since its inception. PPP Secretary General Jhangir Badr said that PPP was the streamline force of democracy in the country and the party leadership and all ranks were committed to the cause of democracy. He stated that workers were the real strength of the party that has always stood by the Country and the Party in thick & thin. Sajida Mi, General Secretary of the PPP Punjab Ghulam Abbas also spoke on the occasion.
