Pakistan on Monday said that diplomatic channels with India are fully operational and Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi and Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad held meetings with the officials of the foreign ministries of the two countries.
A foreign office statement issued here did not mention that India had lodged a protest when Pakistan high commissioner in New Delhi held a meeting with officials of India external affairs ministry. This was a routine meeting as the diplomatic channels are fully operational.
The Pakistani High Commissioner in New Delhi was received by the Special Secretary at the External Affairs Ministry at 6.30pm (New Delhi time) while the Indian High Commissioner was received by the Foreign Secretary at 7.00pm (Islamabad time) on Monday. Similar meetings were held earlier and will continue to be held to exchange views and information on the Mumbai incident.
