Pakistan Chemists Retailers Association (PCRA) on Monday alleged that smuggling of medicines from India is continuing unabated and putting negative effects on the country's economy. The PCRA Chairman Ishaq Mayo further alleged that some registered medical practitioners were involved in smuggling of medicines who used to bring unregistered medicines in the country through Gift Scheme.
He asked the government to take immediate action against the elements involved in this illegal business, as they were causing harm to the country's economy. He said the PCRA would expose the elements involved in this illegal business, as such smuggled unregistered medicines are being sold. He announced full co-operation to the Chairman Chief Minister's Task Force on Spurious medicines for his efforts aimed at eliminating spurious drugs from the society.
