Director Cluster Development Project, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) Lahore Sajid Hussain while giving a detailed presentation on the concept of cluster development in industry has said that new clusters in the trade policy have been included as an effective way to promote system of production which is demand driven and flexible.
He said this in a seminar organised by TDAP in connection with the Cluster Development and Network Building, which was participated by the entrepreneurs of automobile industry and foundries.
Hussain urged the entrepreneurs to keep themselves abreast with the changing patterns of technology. He also assured the entrepreneurs of TDAP's continuous support in overcoming their problems. A documentary regarding successful accomplishment of the Unido Cluster Development Programme was screened. 16 leading entrepreneurs of auto part sector participated in the awareness seminar.
According to the press statement issued here by TDAP, a three member team of the Strategic Export Control Division (Secdiv), Ministry of Foreign Affairs also visited the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Lahore for the purpose to make their presentation regarding strategic export controls in Pakistan.
Director, Strategic Export Control Division (Secdiv), Zatar Ali apprised the officers of TDAP, Lahore about the measures taken by Pakistan to strengthen control over exports of sensitive commodities and technologies. He discussed the important features of strategic export control and described in detail the pillars of an effective export control system.
Zafar Ali also deliberated on the essential elements of Pakistan's export control system and detailed evolution of Export Control Act 2004. "We are endeavouring to create awareness among the public and private sector and for this purpose, we are holding seminars, exhibitions and workshops to apprise the people about the salient features of Pakistan's export control measures", he added.
