The Human Rights Society of Pakistan (HRSP) has appealed for the release of Iraqi Journalist, Muntazar Al Zaidi, who has been arrested for hurling shoes on the US President during his visit to Baghdad. The HRSP at its meeting held in Lahore condemned torturing the said journalist, former federal law Minister, Senator SM Zafar, HRSP Chairman said in a statement here on Friday.
"The incident represents the sentiments that prevail generally in the world and especially the Muslim countries and Iraq regarding the unjustified and arbitrary invasion of Iraq under a false pretext", said a resolution passed by the HRSP.
