Northern and central Balochistan including the provincial capital remained in grip of severe cold weather on Sunday after the snowfall in hilly areas of northern parts of the province.
The mercury has dropped to minus-eight degree Celsius in the provincial metropolis on Sunday and the temperatures went down to minus-11 degree Celsius in earthquake-affected areas of Pishin and Ziarat districts.
The chilly weather forced the people to remain confined at their homes while dearth gas pressure further added to miseries of the people in northern parts of the province including the provincial capital. The roads reflected deserted look due to the inclement weather enveloped the city.
The regional met office has forecast that the current spell of severe cold weather would continue to hit Zhob, Kalat and Quetta divisions during the next 24 hours in the province.
