Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed was an icon of strength and prowess for the Pakistani women as she has given new heights to the women character by her resolute efforts for the development and welfare of the people especially the downtrodden that are the real face of our society.
Younger generations should learn from the iconic personality of late Benazir Bhutto and play their role in the promotion of democracy in the country.
This was stated by Senior Minister, Raja Riaz Ahmad while addressing a function held in connection with death anniversary of late Benazir Bhutto at his residence here today.
He said that PPP will work hard to strengthen and develop Pakistan as it has always laid its blood for the country. We will steer the country out of the crisis with the support of the people, he maintained. He expressed his satisfaction that the federal government has set up Rs 10 million Benazir Human rights fund to strengthen and supplement the efforts for human rights protection at the grassroots in the country.
Government also plans to develop infrastructural mechanism at the district and provincial level in the country to fully protect human rights of the vulnerable including women, religious minorities and the children.
He further eulogised the services of Benazir Bhutto for promoting democracy and said that Bhuttos are the champions of popular democracy who have always worked tremendously for strengthening popular democracy in the country.
Political workers should learn from their struggle and they should effort for the supremacy of law and the democracy in the country, he concluded.
