New York-based PPP leaders and activists have called Shaheed Benazir Bhutto an impeccable leader devoted to strengthening Pakistan through a solid socio-economic development programme and moving the country towards the path of moderation.
Shafqat Tanveer, a veteran party leader, said Benazir would have transformed Pakistan as people in all the four provinces listened to her. The entire nation respected her as did the international community, and she would pulled the country out of its crisis.
Another PPP activist Dr M. Hassan said, "her departure from the scene at a critical juncture was an inrreparable loss to Pakistan. Ms Bhutto was an outstanding politician and had a complete grasp of the country's problems. The welfare of masses was her top priority."
