An introductory ceremony of IInd edition of poetry "Chaman Koi Bhi Ho" of renowned UK based Pakistani poet Basir Sultan Kazimi was held on Friday. The function organised by Rotary Club presided by Intezar Hussain while Shehzad Ahmed was the chief guest.
Dr Khursheed Rizvi, Murtaza Barlas, Amjad Islam Amjad, Khalid Ahmed, Dr Ajmal Niazi, Dr Saadat Saeed and Javed Iqbal Awan highlighted various aspects of the poetry of Basir Kazimi on this occasion.
Basir Sultan is son of great Urdu poet Nasir Kazimi and earlier his first poetic edition "Mauj-e-Khayal" was published in 1997, which was highly appreciated by literary and poetic circles.
The poetry of Basir Kazimi has been translated in various languages of the world and he is the only Pakistani poet whose poetic verses have been displayed in the Central Chowk of Salao City UK with the poetic verses of ten other languages of the world.
Renowned Palestinian poet Mahmood Darwaish is included in these poets. Long drama (Basaat) and Nasir Kazimi "Shakhsiat Aur Fun" are included in other literary works of Basir Kazimi. He had obtained MA degree in English literature from Government College Lahore where he also served as Editor of "Ravi."
