A delegation led by Naib Ameer Jamat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch called on Punjab Chief Minister Main Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Chief Minister Secretariat, here on Friday. Political issues as well as regional situation came under discussion during the meeting.
Talking to the delegation, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan is facing threats on internal and external fronts and the whole nation will have to unite on a single platform by sinking its differences. He said that India should refrain for levelling baseless allegations against Pakistan and solve all issues through negotiations in the interest of a durable peace in the region.
He said that Pakistan is a peaceful and responsible nuclear power and wants lasting peace in the region, however, if any one tried to impose war Pakistani nation will stand as a rock in the defence of the country and foiling the designs of the enemy. He said that terrorism, extremism and militancy are hurdles in the progress of the country and national consensus is the prime need of the hour to cope with all problems.
He said that Pakistan is our homeland and we will have to transform it in accordance with the ideas of Quaid-e-Azam and ensure supremacy of law and constitution as well as justice. He said that we would have to make Pakistan stronger and invincible by utilising our own resources instead of relying on others.
Shahbaz said that we would have to promote simplicity and austerity and reduce non-developmental expenditure. He said that financial discipline is being strictly ensured in the province and not a single car has been purchased during the last eight months.
Dr Fareed Ahmed Paracha and Ahsan Ullah Waqas were also present on the occasion.
