Bangladesh will receive a $35 million loan from the International Development Association (IDA), the World Bank's concessionary arm, to support a government project for disabled people and vulnerable children, the bank said on Sunday. "The assistance will support the government in expanding the coverage, use, and quality of social care services for persons with disabilities and children at risk, particularly street children," it said in a statement.
The IDA and Bangladesh government signed the credit agreement on Sunday for financing the project which will promote equity and social inclusion for these vulnerable groups. The project will expand disability services, improve awareness, and build capacity of non-government organisation, disabled people's organisations, and government agencies providing support to disabled people and their families.
